Feed Me Softly Selected for Artiade 2026 in Valencia
I’m happy to share that my artwork Feed Me Softly has been selected for Artiade 2026, the international exhibition known as the Olympics of Art, scheduled to take place this November in Valencia, Spain.
Of all the work I could have submitted, this piece feels particularly personal. It represents a direction I’ve been moving towards for some time: bringing AI-generated imagery together with collage, compositing, and digital intervention to build something more layered.
The Work Behind Feed Me Softly
The idea first appeared during a series of creative experiments in 2024. The initial image had a painterly quality, but I knew the concept needed a different visual language. I kept it, returned to it, tested variations, and gradually rebuilt it.
The finished work grew through compositing, changes to the image’s content and structure, colour work, and many rounds of refinement. AI was part of its starting point, but the piece took shape through decisions made across several digital practices. Artiade selected Feed Me Softly as collage, digital art, and mixed media, which makes this recognition especially meaningful to me.
The work explores the influence of media, consumer culture, and digital overstimulation on younger generations. It asks how our desires and sense of identity are shaped by what we consume, often before we realise it is happening.
About Artiade
Founded in 1996, Artiade has previously held exhibitions in Atlanta, Athens, and New York. Artists are selected through an anonymous process: the international jury evaluates the work without seeing names, biographies, or gallery affiliations. This year, 200 artists from 70 countries were selected.
It means a great deal to see an idea that spent nearly two years evolving in my folders find its place in an exhibition alongside artists working in many different disciplines. I’m excited to share Feed Me Softly with a new audience in Valencia.
