A New Exhibition Is Taking Shape in Veria
I’m excited to share that photographer Eleni Mavrokefalidou and I are working together on an exhibition planned for spring 2027 in Veria, at the Thanos Mikroutsikos Arts Centre. It will be open to the public, with exact dates and further details to follow.
I met Eleni in January 2025, when I joined the Veria photography group Antithesis. She is an active member of the group since 2021 and has taken part in more than 15 photography exhibitions in Veria and Ioannina, contributing consistently to the cultural life of our community. I admired her work from the start. As we got to know each other and exchanged ideas, it became clear that we both wanted to create something together.
It took several meetings to find a form that felt right for both of us. We come to image-making through different experiences and methods, but share a willingness to experiment and learn from each other’s practice. That became the starting point for this exhibition.
We want to explore what can happen when photography, digital art, and emerging technologies enter into conversation. We also want to bring that conversation to our own city. There is understandable curiosity, uncertainty, and sometimes fear around AI. By sharing work made with care and intention, we hope to offer people a chance to encounter its creative possibilities for themselves.
I’m especially happy to build this with Eleni, whose work and commitment I deeply respect. It is already pushing me to expand my own practice, and the encouragement we’ve received so far means a great deal to both of us.
The exhibition has a name and a central idea, but we’re keeping those to ourselves a little longer. For now, I’m glad to share that it’s happening. We look forward to welcoming you in Veria next spring.
