A Beautiful Trap Wins at WSXA Amsterdam International Awards 2025
I’m deeply honored to share that A Beautiful Trap has been announced as an Official Winner at the WSXA Amsterdam International Awards 2025.
WSXA Amsterdam is part of a global film festival association with editions in Paris, Barcelona, and Berlin. Recognized as a FilmFreeway Gold Festival and IMDb Award Listing Qualifier, WSXA has been a meeting point for independent creators worldwide. Over the years, many of its alumni have gone on to screen their works at prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, and Berlinale, solidifying its reputation as a platform that bridges emerging and established voices in cinema.
A Beautiful Trap began as a small visual experiment — a personal exploration of the tension between escape and entrapment. What we seek as relief often becomes the very weight that holds us down. Through surreal underwater imagery, the film examines how illusions of freedom can quietly turn into self-made prisons, and how real liberation often begins when we confront what lies beneath.

At its core, the project embraces AI as a sustainable filmmaking method, not as a replacement for human creativity, but as an extension of it. The film was crafted using Midjourney, Hailuo AI (MiniMax), Google Veo 3, and Suno AI, with no physical sets, travel, or crews involved — relying solely on imagination, emotional resonance, and digital collaboration.
This approach reflects my belief that technology, when guided by intention and empathy, can democratize artistic creation — allowing powerful stories to be told with minimal environmental impact and maximum emotional depth.

I’m grateful to WSXA International for recognizing this vision and for championing experimental and independent storytelling.
The journey of A Beautiful Trap now continues toward its next destination: the WSXA Berlin Award Ceremony this November.
