“What We Carry” Honored with Official Selection & Honorable Mention
I’m grateful to share that my series “What We Carry” has been recognized with an Honorable Mention, following its Official Selection in this year’s competition.
This project is one of the most personal works I’ve created under Ennoia. It is an introspective journey through the emotional residue we accumulate from childhood onward. It begins with the image of a child holding a mask—a quiet metaphor for the roles, fears, and unspoken truths we inherit early in life.
From there, the series unfolds through portraits of fear, isolation, loss, memory, obligation, regret, and grace. Each moment is a fragment of the silent weight we learn to carry, the parts of ourselves shaped by experience and the feelings we adapt to as we grow.
The recognition of What We Carry with both an Official Selection and now an Honorable Mention award means a lot to me. It affirms that this narrative of inner struggle and resilience resonates beyond the personal, becoming something collective—something shared.
This project is about more than images; it’s about connection, reflection, and the unspoken burdens we all hold in different ways. To have it acknowledged in this way is both humbling and motivating as I continue to explore how AI can deepen emotional storytelling in visual art.
