“Ancomfortable Truths” Awarded Jury Top 5 Selection at the IPA

Alongside winning 3rd Place in the Professional Category at the 2025 International Photography Awards (IPA), my series “Ancomfortable Truths” also received a special distinction: the Jury Top 5 Selection, chosen by Claudio Composti, Founder and Artistic Director of mc2gallery in Milan.

This acknowledgment feels deeply significant. Awards chosen by public or open jury voting carry their own value, but to be individually recognized by a figure with such profound expertise in photography and curation makes this honor stand out in a different way.

The Jury’s Words

Claudio Composti commented on the power of AI in relation to the award:

“AI has become a powerful tool to bring to life the worlds we imagine but struggle to visualize. It transforms ideas into images, bridging the gap between vision and creation.”

For me, this statement captures the essence of my own practice. “Ancomfortable Truths” was born from the need to give form to stories that resist being photographed directly—the hidden, quieter weight of addiction. AI became the bridge, allowing me to create spaces that feel both cinematic and painfully intimate, worlds that sit uncomfortably close to reality.

About Claudio Composti

Claudio Composti is not only the Founder and Artistic Director of mc2gallery in Milan, a gallery specializing in contemporary photography, but also the Founder of Periscope Photoscouting, a platform dedicated to discovering and supporting emerging Italian and international photographers.

His career spans collaborations with major museums and institutions, including the Camera Museum of Photography in Torino and the MART Museum in Rovereto, where he curated significant exhibitions and contributed essays to their catalogs. Composti also serves as art director and advisor for prestigious galleries, teaches at Raffles Design Institute in Milan, collaborates with Leica Akademie, and has been a reviewer at international photography festivals such as Les Rencontres d’Arles, PhotoVogue Festival in Milan, SIPF Singapore Photo Festival, and many more.

Since 2023, he has also taken on the role of Art Director of the Ragusa Photo Festival in Sicily and the WhiteCarrara Festival in Tuscany. His influence stretches across curation, teaching, advising, and festival programming—making his recognition all the more meaningful.

Why This Matters

Being awarded the Jury Top 5 Selection by Claudio Composti is more than a line in my achievements. It’s a reminder that AI-powered art is being taken seriously in spaces that shape the future of photography. Composti’s words validate a reality many of us creating with AI feel strongly about: that this medium doesn’t replace vision, it amplifies it.

For “Ancomfortable Truths”, this award reinforces what the series set out to do: confront the fragile spaces between silence and chaos, addiction and survival, intimacy and distance.

If you missed it, you can also read about the 3rd Place award for Ancomfortable Truths in the Professional Category of the 2025 IPA here. Together, these two recognitions form an important step forward in my journey—from my 1st place win last year as a Non-Professional, to now being acknowledged among professionals on a global stage.
